Imagine that you can choose, among all possible faces, the “ideal” face. What would it be its features? Would it hide among its proportions that golden one, as it is argued in the Treaty of 1509 De Divine Proportion by Luca Pacioli? Would anyone agree on your choice? To what extent do our ideal faces resemble? Are there different “archetypes” of beautiful faces? Do they possess special features, such as  specific measures or proportions, small details, a given shape of mouth or eyes. You can try to answer this questions by playing with BEAUTYXPLORE. Thanks to a genetic algorithm, an optimization strategy inspired by natural selection, you can ‘sculpt’ your ideal face and confront you with the preferences of others.
