CityChrone: towards a science of cities
In Paris public transport works fine.
In Rome you can easily move only if you live next to a metro stop.
How many times have we heard these phrases? Many, and yet we can hardly quantify how better public transport is in Paris, and why. Would our mobility really improve if we moved next to a metro stop? Could we measure this improvement? Would this improvement depend on the line or on the stop? What’s the best subway plan in order to enhance traffic mobility?
The CityChrone project tries to answer these questions through a quantitative analyse of urban mobility in big towns, with particular attention to public transport. CityChroneTable is a touch screen table allowing general public to witness in real-time how every single change can affect general mobility in a given town.
